Reason for Celebrating in the US
On October 5, 2013, member Alex Herzog and his wife Nancy privately celebrated their golden wedding anniversary (along with their son’s 46th birthday on the same date).
Earlier, though, in August they staged a grand three-day celebration in Boulder, Colorado attended by nearly one hundred relatives from near and far and by a few long-time local friends. The main event was a gathering consisting of a social hour, a festive dinner, toasts, musical numbers, and an evening of dancing.
The next morning, nearly everyone gathered for a “nearly 1.5 kilometer“ family fun run/walk/saunter and a subsequent brunch, and in the evening nearly everyone came back for a lively sing-along.
On Sunday morning, a family soccer game at a nearby school (with participants from age 6 to 75) rounded out the festive but relaxed
